Sara Elise Alford – Obituary

SaraOur precious angel, Sara Elise Alford, returned home to her Heavenly Father on March 24, 2013 after 11 months with her earthly family. Elise’s brief presence blessed her family and all who knew her, and we are grateful for the gift that she was. She radiated a spirited and beautiful light that will always shine within our hearts.

Elise was the beloved daughter of John and Elizabeth Alford(Baskerville) of Helena. Her big brother, James, was proud to call her his sister.

Elise’s mother and family lived in Decatur and still have close friends and connections here.

Elise is survived by a large and loving family: maternal grandmother, Rebecca Savage-Sherrer (Gary) of Dothan; maternal grandfather, Vic Baskerville(Jennifer) of Birmingham; paternal grandmother, Carol Alford of Birmingham; paternal grandfather, Phillip Alford of Grenada, Miss.; maternal great-grandmother, Sara Jo Baskerville of Birmingham; paternal great-grandmother, Charlene Moore of Chelsea; maternal great-grandfather, Harvey Nabors of Birmingham; maternal aunt, Allison Corbin (Jason) of Atlanta, Ga.; maternal uncle, John Baskerville of Birmingham; and paternal aunt, Katie Alford of Birmingham. Elise also had many other cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles, all who love her dearly.

Elise’s life will be celebrated at Helena United Methodist Church in Helena on Friday, March 29, 2013, at 1 p.m. with a grave- side service to follow at Southern Heritage Cemetery in Pelham.

Flowers will be received at Helena United Methodist Church or monetary donations may be made to the Sara Elise Alford Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank location.
