ATHENS– Athens State University’s Livingston Concert Lecture series will present the Sankofa African-American Museum on Wheels on Tuesday, January 19 and Wednesday, January 20. The exhibition, which features historical artifacts and memorabilia, will be open both days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be located in the ballroom of the Sandridge Student Center. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
“Although not in February, this event will kick off the Black History Month celebration at Athens State,” said Terry Stepp, Director of Campus and Community Engagement. “This exhibition has been featured at many colleges and communities across the country and we are proud to make it available to our students and the people of our area.”
Ms. Angela Jennings, head the Sankofa African-American Museum on Wheels, will be on hand to take you on an eye-opening journey through time while exploring the museum artifacts. She will be available to speak about the museum’s offerings to both individuals or groups during the two-day period.
