Sandy Stults Witt, age 62, lost her courageous 13-year battle with breast cancer Tuesday, April 7, 2015. God called his angel on earth back to him today. She was an angel to every life she touched, and she touched so many people with her smile and sweet voice. She was a fighter to the very end, telling God she still had work to do here on earth. Sandy was a cheerleader and graduated from Central High School in 1971. Sandy loved anything to do with flowers and gardening. She was past president of Lakeside Garden Club and Florence Council of Garden Clubs. She helped decorate Pope Tavern every year for their Christmas open house at every light a prayer for peace. She was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church of Florence and she loved everything and everyone in the church. She was a very active participant in The Circle of Hope and Alter Guild. She helped with the bazaar the church held each year to raise money for missions; other people were always first in her heart.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2015, at St. James United Methodist Church, of Florence, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the service beginning at 1 p.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Bart Bolin and the Rev. Chuck Canterbury. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Bevis, Jeff Bevis, Cody Farrar, Billy Simmons, Joe Rhodes and Doug Olive.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Stults.
Survivors are her husband, Danny Witt; sons, Craig and Chad Witt; grandchildren, Evan and Delia Witt; mother, Kathryn Grinnell; sisters, Donna Bevis and Rhonda Farrar; and brothers, Jim, Dwain and Randy Stults.
