Sandra Peery Pogue, 84, retired Cafeteria Manager for Hampshire Unit School for 30 years and resident of Hampshire, died Monday, May 29, 2023 at West Meade Place in Nashville surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Stephen Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Born August 4, 1938 in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late James Peery and the late Melba Brown Peery. She was a 1956 graduate of Lewis County High School. On October 20, 1956, she married Cecil Blair Pogue who preceded her in death April 6, 2019. Mrs. Pogue was an excellent cook, enjoyed reading, gardening and bird watching. She was a long time member of Cathey’s Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Al and Tina Pogue of Nashville; granddaughters, Rachael Pogue of Nashville; Emily Blair Pogue (Jason) Orr of Grand River, Kentucky; sister, Nora (Randy) Bates of Hohenwald; sisters-in-law, Alice Campbell of Spring Hill; Sue (Don) Garner of Hampshire; nieces, Diane Tranovich, Celia Koelsch; nephews, Tim Cotham, Wendell Cotham, and Pat Campbell; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jimmie Cotham; and nephew, Stevie Cotham.
Active pallbearers will be Pat Campbell, Dave Tranovich, Tim Cotham, Randy Bates, Benny Morton, and Mark Jones. Honorary pallbearers include Edward Runions, Keith Runions, Dr. Gibran Naddy, and Elders of Cathey’s Creek Church of Christ.
