Funeral Services for Mrs. Sandra P. Herrington, age 69 of Ashland, will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Bro. David Holcombe officiating.
Mrs. Herrington passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at her home. Born in Talladega, she moved to Clay County where she lived for the last 50 years. She worked as a seamstress at Southland, where she retired after 30 years and then went on to work at Dollar General for 14 years. Mrs. Herrington was an avid Alabama fan and loved reading romance books. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, caring more for her children than herself.
She is survived by her daughter: Kelly Diane Hamlin (Matt) of Munford; two sons: Kenneth Lynn Herrington and Christopher Lee Herrington, both of Ashland; six grandchildren: Courtney, Jacob, Maci, Faith, Anna, and Matthew; five great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Kenneth” Herrington; her parents, Johnnie Francis Martin and Dorothy Inez Johnson Martin; her granddaughter, Kayla Leigh Herrington, and was the last of 16 children.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 4:00 P.M. until service time at 6:00 P.M.
