Sandra Newman Rowland Profile Photo Sandra N. Rowland, 76 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 26, 2023, at her home in Brighton, TN. She was born on January 19, 1947, to Clarence Lindsey and Geneva (Parsons) Newman at an Army Hospital in Ft. Meade, Maryland.  Later that same year the family returned to Tennessee and made their home in Covington, TN where she attended Covington Church of Christ and in later years the family moved to Frayser, TN where she attended Denver Elementary School and graduated from Frayser High School in 1965. She dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and was a member of East Frayser Church of Christ.

She married Doug Arthur in 1965 and made their home in the Georgian Hills neighborhood of Memphis where they raised their 3 children. She enjoyed her young family. She was active in her children’s classroom, coaching school sports, sewing and making costumes for school plays. She took classes in cake decorating and furniture upholstery, she was active with the Bunko club and served as Treasurer of the local TOPPS Club. She loved being a mother and a homemaker.

It was in 1995 that Sandra and Don Rowland reunited, knowing each other from childhood. She moved to Florida and married Don Rowland on December 30,1996. They resided in the Ridge Manor community outside Tampa. It was after Don’s passing that she moved back to Tennessee to be closer to her family.

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Donald Howard Rowland in 2009, her parents Lindsey and Geneva Newman in 2009 and her brother Donald Lindsey Newman 2021 and sister-in-law Olivia Newman 2010. She was laid to eternal rest at Cave Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Chester County, TN in a private graveside service on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

She leaves behind 3 children Cathy(Allen) Beckman, Susan(David) Holder, Trey(Tori) Arthur;  8 grandchildren Rhett(Stephanie) Goodwin, Lindsey Goodwin, Will(Mandy) Holder, Nathan(Kristen) Holder, Bobby Holder, Katie(Taylor) Volz, Madison Arthur and Harris Arthur;  7 great-grandchildren Liam Holder, Axel Holder, Audrey Goodwin, Evie Holder, Walker Holder, Beau Volz and Allie Goodwin.
