Sandra Lavon Guthrie, 73, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Walker Baptist Medical Center.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 6 until 8 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Joe Weldon will officiate.

Sandra was a homemaker, after raising her children; she pursued a career in nursing. She started as a CNA, then moved up to LPN, then became a RN. She was a very caring and loving nurse to all her patients. Sandra truly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she wore the name Nonna very proudly. She loved getting together with her family, friends and her Bama Carry friends. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded by her loving husband, Roy E. Guthrie; parents, R.A. “Radio” Steadman and Mary Alice Steadman; brother, Robert Steadman; and sister, Edna Ruth Wells (Eldred).

She is survived by her children, Daryl R. Guthrie (Eunice) of Jasper, Phillip Guthrie (Elizabeth) of Nauvoo, Lee Ann Rouse (Ken) of Wetumpka and Malana Roberts of Jasper; son-in-law, Tony Roberts of Parrish; grandchildren, Renae Wilson (Caleb), Austen Parker, Nichole Tittle (Jeremy), Weston Roberts and Braylen Roberts; great grandchildren; Cambrie Wilson, Colton Wilson and Ellie Kate Tittle; sister, Wanda Mae Elliott; beloved dog, Reese; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tri County A.I.D.
