Sandra Gale Prater Nelson, age 56 of Jacksonville, passed away on February 12, 2023. She is survived by her mother, Reba Knight; sons, Allen Prince and Steven Prince (Courtney); daughter, Kasandra Ward (Clay); sister, Barbara Prater; brother, Ricky Knight; grandchildren, Ethan and Emberly; niece, Crystal Champion; nephews, Jeremey Pinson (Floria), Colton Bragg, Aaron Bragg and Brady Knight; great nieces, Taylor, Allegra and Jacie Champion; great nephew, Pryce Pinson; best friend, Angel Smallwood; dog, Houdini; and a host of loving friends and cousins.
Gale was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Nelson; her dad, step dad, grandparents, uncles, aunts; brother, Randy Knight; and sister, Renae Bragg.
Gale was a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. She was born with a gentle sweet soul. She loved and cared about everyone she ever met. She was small in stature but she had the heart of a giant. She was always the first one to say, “I love you” to all of her friends and family. She loved her friends, her dog, her family and her two boys.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at American Legion Post 57, 1501 Pelham Road South, Jacksonville, AL 36265.
