Samuel Lee Scott “Sammy” was born December 12, 1958 in Harvest, Alabama, to the late Mr. George Scott Sr. and Mrs. Willie Mae Scott. He departed this life on June 30, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Sammy gave his life to Christ in April 1998.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Scott Sr. and mother Willie Mae Scott, his son Darren Woods, two brothers, Rufus Scott and Tommie Lee Scott, and his sister Kimberly Scott.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Mable Smith Scott; three children, Starlla Batts, Brittany (Joe) Lacy and A’Zerrius Ahahn-Lee Scott “Fat Daddy”; five grandchildren, Latavia and Jazyrea Batts, Daziyah, Xzavion and Janiyah Lacy; four brothers, Clarence (Wanda) Scott, George (Diane) Scott Jr., Harold (Anna) Scott, John (Cynthia) Haygood; three sisters, Deborah Scott, Beatrice Horton and Georgia Hobbs; one stepdaughter and step grandson, Keitara Smith and Dayton Robinson; mother-in-law, Hattie Smith; three sister- in-laws, LaCressia Diane Scott, Tamika Smith and Tena Smith; and a host of other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Taylor’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church (3100 Stringfield Road NW, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Dr, Wendell Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mr. Scott will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2023, and 8:30 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
