Samuel Francis Womack – Obituary

Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Samuel Francis Womack, age 79 of Spring Hill, TN. Mr. Womack passed from this life on Friday April 27, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.  A native of Huntsville, Alabama and was raised in the Rock Springs community of Estill Springs.  He was a 1957 graduate of Franklin County High School and continued his education at the University of Tennessee.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy which focuses on the science of soil management and crop production.  He worked for a time at Shadow’s Nursery and also served as a probation officer in Franklin County.  He worked for a number of years as the manager of the Co-Op in Moore County until his retirement in 2001.  Following retirement he worked in landscaping, enjoyed fishing and raising a garden but his main interest was his grandchildren.    Mr. Womack is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Wakefield Womack, his father, Len Watson Womack, Sr. and a brother, Mike Womack.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Baxter Womack of Spring Hill; daughter, Kimberly (Joe) Womack of Columbia; son, Mike (Tammy) Womack of Thompson Station; the joy of his life, his grandchildren, Sam and Marley Womack; brothers, Len (Annis) Womack, Jr. of Centerville and Willie (Peggy) Womack of Winchester, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Womack of Lynchburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  A memorial celebration will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday April 29, 2017 at Watson-North Funeral Home with Bro. Byrom Lawrence officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.  For those who so desire, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Lupus Foundation of America (www.lupus.org), the Michael J.
