Samuel Craig “Sammy” Reavis, 71, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Sam endured a long battle with renal failure and other health issues. He was one tough cookie and a fighter for sure. He was a man of many trades: carpentry, lawn care, painting cars, car maintenance, and restorations. He loved the ladies, antiques, especially cars, and Alabama Football “Roll Tide”, but most of all, he loved his family over everything else.

He was preceded in death by father, George Frank Reavis, Jr.; mother, Jolene Frame Kearley; grandparents, George Frank Reavis, Sr., Bertie Berryhill Reavis, William Monroe Frame and Florence Throneberry Frame; step father, Thomas F. Kearley; brother, Dan Anthony Reavis; and sister, Teresa Ann Reavis Nickel.

Surviving are former wife and caregiver, Joyce Ann Meeks; children, John Reavis, Amy Reavis (Michael) Lipscomb and Brandon & Matthew Reavis and their mother, Julie Reavis; grandchildren, Jacob (Shelby) Reavis, Courtney Reavis and their mother, April Reavis, Zac (Katie) Deen, Christopher Deen, Carson Deen, Will Deen, Haley Lipscomb, and Tyler Lipscomb; great grandchildren, Blakelynn, Briley, and Colter; special cousin and friend, Mickey (Robin) Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 7:00 PM with Rev. Doug Browner, Jerry O’Neal officiating.
