Mr. Samuel A. Tipton, 97 of Woodville, Al. was born December 15, 1926 and passed away Tuesday February 13, 2024 peacefully in Woodville. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tn and Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsboro. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a Mason. He worked 50 years at Dupont in Chattanooga, Tn.
Mr. Tipton is survived by his daughter, Jona Clay (David R.); three grandchildren, Matthew Pittman (Tracie), Joshua Pittman (Christie) and Christopher Massengale (Kristen); 7 great grandchildren, Christian, Blake, Ava, Sam, Avery, Brooklyn and Bryant; 1 great great grandchild, Beau and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Osborne Tipton, son, Bruce Tipton and parents, William Hunt Tipton and Laura Preston Tipton.
Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church. The burial will be Cedar Hill Cemetery.
