Sammy Dean McCombs Jr It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sammy Dean McCombs Jr. (Deano) announce his passing on December 31, 2023 in Anniston, Alabama at the age of 39. He was born on December 14, 1984 in Anniston, Alabama to Dean McCombs and Dawn Evans.
Dean, affectionately known as “Deano”, was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He was a kind and gentle soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Dean attended White Plains High School and after high school worked at the Anniston Army Depot for several years. He was a jack of all trades, and he followed his dreams and started his own business, Above and Beyond. He was a member of Post Oak Springs Baptist Church. He was an avid lover of all animals and enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and messing with his chickens.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angie McCombs; father, Dean McCombs (Tamula); mother, Dawn Evans (Thomas); son, Gavin Hughes; daughter, Hannah McCombs; goddaughter, Brooke Johnson; sisters, Shirley Brown (Josh) and Shaunda Combs (Richard); stepbrother, Lincoln Capstick (Caitlin); stepsister Jackie Arnold (Michael); grandmother, Ida McCollum; sister-in-laws, Felicia Spears (Randall aka Pnut) and Kristy Siskey (Adam); several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Samuel McCombs; grandparents, Shirley McCombs, Dewey McCombs, and Louis Rose.

Visitation for Dean McCombs will be at the Post Oak Springs Baptist Church on Sunday, January 7. Family will begin receiving visitors at 4:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Angie. Donations can be made directly to her or through the church.

Dean will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, and loyal friend to all. He was a source of strength and support for his family and friends, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Rest in peace, Deano. We love you and will miss you.
