Mr. Sammy D. Shepherd, age 73, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015 at NHC Healthcare-Hillview in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Imboden, VA.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Katherine Underwood Shepherd of Mt. Pleasant, TN; 3 sons, Darrell Marvin (Cynthia) Shepherd of Savannah, GA, William Marcus (Lori) Shepherd of Sparta, & Scott Anthony (Susan) Shepherd of Melbourne, FL; 5 grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, Danielle, Derek, & Brett Shepherd; 2 sisters, Betty Daniels & Helen Mitchell, both of Michigan; & 2 brothers, Clyde Shepherd of Michigan & Charles Shepherd of Kentucky.
Mr. Shepherd was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian Marvin Shepherd & Ruby Luvine Marcus Shepherd; 2 Brothers, James Monroe Shepherd & Roger Lee Shepherd, Sr.; and 2 Brothers-in-law, Howard Lee Mitchell & Jim Daniels.
He was a retired engineer with General Motors.
Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 at Blues Hill Cemetery with Bro. Hunter Hay officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 AM to 12 Noon Monday at the Woodbury Funeral Home.
