Sally Rebekah Vaughan James, 46, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at her residence in Lee County. Sally was born in Natchez on March 15, 1977. She lived most of her life in Shannon but has been living in the Birmingham Ridge Community for the last several years. Sally was outgoing; she never met a stranger and enjoyed the art of communication. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her daughters especially doing their makeup, and she adored her precious grandchildren. Sally enjoyed the summer months and spending time outside. She found joy in drawing, painting, sewing, and cross-stitching.
Sally is survived by her loving mother, Mary Jane Vaughan; her three daughters, Claire, Cammie, and Rebekah James; her two grandsons, Dallas and Reid Weaver; her special friend and companion, JR Sullivan along with his daughters, Cameron and Savannah and his granddaughter, Louella.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Robert H. “Bobby” Vaughan.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Doyle Ray Mitchell officiating. Private graveside services will follow at Shannon Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be JR Sullivan, Ricky Herndon, John Vaughan, Will Vaughan, Casey Bruce, and Clayton Copeland.
