Sally Evelyn Knight, age 85 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on July 15, 1934 to the late William Alton and Mary Emma (Riddle) Grant. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, painting, and flower gardening, as well as attending craft shows. Evelyn was a devoted member of Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she had played the piano and organ for over fifty years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and “Nana.” Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of sixty-seven years, Bill Knight of Winchester; children, Andy (Margaret) Knight of Winchester, Melissa (David) Henson of Columbia, and Julie (Brian) Cook of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Mandy (John) Hill, Melinda Knight, Ben Henson, Katie (Jay) Poling, Grant Cook, and Gabriel Cook; great-grandchildren, Grace Hill, Caroline Hill, and Lannon Poling; and brother, Mike (Martha) Grant of Winchester. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Morgan and Rev. Charles Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1262 Williams Cove Road, Winchester, TN 37398.
