Sally Evelyn Knight, age 85 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on July 15, 1934 to the late William Alton and Mary Emma (Riddle) Grant. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, painting, and flower gardening, as well as attending craft shows. Evelyn was a devoted member of Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she had played the piano and organ for over fifty years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and “Nana.” Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of sixty-seven years, Bill Knight of Winchester; children, Andy (Margaret) Knight of Winchester, Melissa (David) Henson of Columbia, and Julie (Brian) Cook of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Mandy (John) Hill, Melinda Knight, Ben Henson, Katie (Jay) Poling, Grant Cook, and Gabriel Cook; great-grandchildren, Grace Hill, Caroline Hill, and Lannon Poling; and brother, Mike (Martha) Grant of Winchester. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Morgan and Rev. Charles Hughes officiating.
