Sage Ryker Spires was born on February 4, 2020, to Savanna and Devin Spires. Sage ran into the arms of Jesus on December 11, 2024, surrounded by family, perfectly whole and healthy. Pain free. He is survived by his loving parents, Savanna and Devin Spires, sister Emersyn and brother Wylder, Grandmother, Tina Pace, Grandfather, Tony Pace, Grandmother, Tabitha Cook, Grandfather, Jacob Spires & Wife Tonya, Great Grandfather, Roger Spires, Great Grandparents, Joyce & Mike Buckalew. Aunts Christina Pike, Karley Pace, Kyndal Cook & Emma Spires, Uncle Matthew Chilcott and MANY great aunts/uncles, cousins and friends that have loved and supported him through his battle. Sage was a warrior. At the age of 2 he was diagnosed with a very rare form of muscular dystrophy. That didn’t stop Sage from living his life to the fullest. From swimming with mama to making s’mores with his sister or even running in the rain with his daddy, Sage was able to defy all odds and experience most things a kid should experience. Most importantly he was able to experience the most undeniable love. Sage’s story reached millions of people all around the world. People everywhere wore t-shirts, put stickers on their cars, wore bracelets and you can even find little green ribbons on every baseball helmet at the ballpark 8 hours away in East Texas. I can promise you one thing, Sage was loved. And he knew it. He would even tell you himself he’s “famous!” One of Sage’s favorite things to do was play Minecraft. He could build you anything you could imagine, as long as you’d send him an “add-on!” His family loved to laugh about his add-on addiction, and of course they sent him several daily so he could continue to do the thing he loved! He also loved Spiderman! Sage loved his family and everyone around him to the moon and back. He was a Momma’s boy and Daddy’s best friend. He brought immeasurable joy and light into the world. Though his time with us was brief, he will always be remembered by his huge beautiful blue eyes and long lashes, his big, sweet smile and the way he moved his precious little hands when he was excited.

The family would like to thank his wonderful nurse, Judy Story, for all the love showed to our son and to Central Pharmacy for being so kind.  Also, to everyone’s support and prayers throughout his journey.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Devin Spires, Karley Pace, Tony Pace, and Ian Pike.
