Sadie Jean Gann Lyle was born December 30, 1934, in Winchester, TN to the late Oscar and Annie Campbell Gann. She was a member of Franklin County First Baptist Church. Sadie worked as a secretary and at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Public Library for many years, but her passion in life was helping others. Sadie was active in the efforts to establish Junior’s House Child Advocacy Center, giving of her time and talents, and she also volunteered with Hannah’s House. She also enjoyed shopping for and collecting antiques. Sadie passed away April 6, 2023, at her home in Fayetteville.
Sadie is survived by her sister, Brenda Smith and her husband Ken of Athens, AL; her brother, Curtis Gann and his wife Helen of Decherd, TN; wonderful friends and dedicated caregivers, Steve and Jenna Jones and family of Fayetteville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Lyle; and her son, Cliff Brandon Lyle.
A private graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Donations to honor Sadie’s memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
