Sadenya Smith, 83, of Arab died on September 25, 2022.
She was born Sadenya Ann White on October 23, 1938 to Lora and Cliff White. She married her high school sweetheart Lavone Smith on July 1, 1956 and upon graduating from Arab High School in 1957 moved to Fort Benning, GA where Lavone was stationed in the Army.
After his service ended, they moved back to Arab where Sadenya began working at Redstone Arsenal and then NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. After almost 42 years of service, she retired in December of 1998.
After retiring she enjoyed traveling in their RV, reading, cooking and spoiling the black labs who entered their lives. She was a loyal friend, hard worker and wonderful role model of strength and perseverance to all those that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter; Denise Vaughn, and granddaughter; Alex Vaughn
A visitation is scheduled for Mrs. Smith on Monday September 26, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Services for Mrs. Smith will be on Tuesday September 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, burial to follow at Brookwood Cemetery.
