Ruthie Elizabeth Hyvonen, 86 of Florence, AL, passed away January 29, 2015 after a sudden illness. She was a native of Florence, AL, a retired caregiver, and a Baptist.

Mrs. Hyvonen is survived by sons Keith Hyvonen (Martha) of Brownstown, MI and Larry Hyvonen of Florence; daughter Betty Hinton of Florence; brothers James Clanton and Elzo Clanton, both of Florence; grandchildren Rachel McFall, Jennifer Melton, Chris Arreola, Corey Ferrell, Jamie Arreola, Tina Kelly, Linda Chicko, Amy Pittman, and Chelsea Hyvonen; great-grandchildren Evan, Emma, Lucus, Rayna, Tanner, Candace, Ashley, Karlee, Landon, Jade, Gabrielle, Andrew, Joey, Angelina, Julianna, Lola, Mia, and Mekhi.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Calvin Clanton and Irona Myrick Clanton; her husband Rev. William Hyvonen; daughter Janice Arreola; brother Willie Clanton; and sisters Inez Roberson and Olive Martini.

Visitation will Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Jay Clanton and Randy Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Emmaline Stutts Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie Burchell, Buford Clanton, Charles Clanton, Tim Burchell, Evan McFall, Tanner Melton, Keith Lakey, and Don Greene.
