Ruth Zimmerman Williams, age 79 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born on September 11, 1943, in Belvidere to the late Emil and Dorothy (Bowling) Zimmerman. Before her retirement, Ruth was employed for twenty-eight years at AEDC in the supply warehouse. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and quilting. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family and played a major role in raising her grandchildren. She was a member of Farris Chapel United Methodist Church and loved the Lord with all her heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Edward Zimmerman, Joseph Ronald Zimmerman, Bobby Allen Zimmerman, and David Andrew Zimmerman; sister, Mary Jane Zimmerman Simpson; and sister-in-law, Judy Solomon Zimmerman. Ruth is survived by her loving daughter, Nita (Denney) Jernigan of Winchester; grandchildren, Kyle (Dana) Tucker of Winchester, Kyra Tucker Pickett (Trey Heroux) of Decherd, Taylor (Alex) Franco of Decherd, Tyler (Paul) Baker of Decherd, Britney (Joel) Bell of Decherd, and Katie Lightfoot of Decherd; great-grandchildren, Zoe Martin (Corey Isbell) of Winchester, Chloe Martin of Winchester, Karsen and Kasen Pickett of Decherd, Annsley and Addisyn Tucker of Decherd, Amellia Franco of Decherd, Wayleigh Baker of Decherd, and River Bell of Decherd; great-great grandchildren, Malibu and Miami Isbell of Winchester; brother, Clarence Gary Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews and other family members. Ruth was also known as “mammaw” to many EMS family members across the state of Tennessee. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, December 2, 2022, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Joshua Layne and Rev. Ross Peterson officiating.
