Ruth Taylor Fite – Obituary

OI631588206_IMG0026NEWMrs. Ruth Taylor Fite, age 102, of Hermitage, Tennessee, died peacefully at her home Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Mrs. Fite was born in the Rover Community of Bedford County, was a daughter of the late James and Susie Davis Taylor and was the last of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. H. “Allie” Fite who died in 1981. Mrs. Fite was a homemaker and formerly was a nurses aide and school patrol mother. She was a longtime member of Hermitage United Methodist Church, and in her earlier years, was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church in the Rover Community. Mrs. Fite was an avid volunteer and loved playing cards and bingo, taking yearly family cruises and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who shared her life.

Mrs. Fite is survived by sons, Paul Fite, who also served as her caregiver, Hermitage, TN, James W. Fite, Hendersonville, TN; daughters, Suzanne Vaden, Kingston Springs, TN, Linda Bradshaw, Crestview, FL, Dinah Knowlton, Hermitage, TN; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Bilbrey and Jim Vaden officiating. Burial will follow in Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.

Jim Fite, Jeffrey Fite, Jason Fite, Jeremy Knois, Jim Vaden and John Ezell will serve as pallbearers.
