Ruth Smith, age 83, Russellville, Ala., passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at her residence.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, Ala. The 11 a.m. funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Brother James McCullar, Brother Dennis Steward and Brother Roger Bond officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Rodney Smith, Joey Smith, Trevor Hallmark, Kelby Hallmark, Cody Smith and Jacob Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Smith and Caleb Smith.
She was preceded in death by husband, Vennie Smith; parents, John Henry and Nancy Searcy; daughter-in-law, Vikki Reed Smith; grandchildren, Jimmy Don Frederick, Hannah Smith; several siblings.
She is survived by sons, Dwayne Smith and wife, Janice, Bill Smith and late wife, Vikki Reed Smith, Gary Smith and wife, Cyndi; stepson, Herman Smith and wife, Barbara; sister, Johnnie Vandiver; brother, Louie Searcy and wife, Marcelene; grandchildren, Rodney Smith, Janna Hallmark, Barbara Smith, Joey Smith, Jennifer West; great-grandchildren, Trevor Hallmark, Kelby Hallmark, Cody Smith, Jacob Smith, Caleb Smith, Kamri Sears, Daniel Smith, Sydnee West, Audree West, Kira Smith, Will Bostic, Katie Bostic; a host of nieces; and nephews.
She was a member of Siloam Missionary Baptist Church.
