Ruth NormanMrs. Ruth Norman, age 86, wife of Bobby Joe Norman, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation Center.

 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Randy Kersey and Ricky Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on March 27, 1936, in Marshall County, Ruth was the daughter of the late Charlie William Hyatt and the late Rose Deleder Green Hyatt. She married Bobby Joe Norman on June 27, 1953. She worked as an EKG technician at Maury Regional Medical Center for twenty-two years before retiring in 1997. She loved Blue Grass music and enjoyed camping, bowling, square dancing, and going to yard sales. Above all, she loved her family, and it was always important to her that they remain close. Ruth was a member of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ.

 

In addition to her husband, Bobby Joe, of sixty-nine years, she is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Gary) Howell of Columbia, son, Randy Norman of Lynnville, brother, Charles Wayne Hyatt of Hendersonville, sister, Ivy Dell Bradley of Nashville, grandchildren, Bobby Cox, Amanda Howell (Dan) Castillo, Brittany (Scott) Furno, Joshua (Lily) Howell, Chelsea Howell, Samantha (Matt) Howington, Jack Norman, and great grandchildren, Raven Castillo, Benny Howell, Oliver Howington, Landon Donavon, Ashton Furno, Hunter Jaxon Norman, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Cox, son in law, Marvin Cox, and sister, Margaret May.

 

Pallbearers will be Landon Donavon, Jack Norman, Matt Howington, Jonathan Thomason, Nick Austin, and Joshua Howell. Honorary pallbearers will include Dan Castillo, Roy & Hilda Moore, and the members of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ.
