My mother, mother-in-law, grandmother. Ruth K. Pettus, 87, of Lexington, passed away March 15, 2013, at her residence. She was a member of Green’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and retired from Salant & Salant (M. Fine), Lexington Senior Citizens Center, and a retired farmer.
Survivors include her son, Mark Pettus and wife, Martha Ann, of Lexington; grandson, Wilton-Mark Pettus; sisters-in-law, Marie Hill and Alice Killen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Vayron Pettus; parents, Sid and Sallie Thompson Killen; sisters, Evelyn Craig and Maudean Tomaszewski; brothers, Clinton Killen, Neal (Bulldog) Killen, and an infant brother.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 17, from 4-8 p.m. at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Brother Bill Smith, Brother Randy French, and Brother Ricky Green officiating. Burial will be in Pettus Cemetery in Lexington.
Pallbearers will be Tim Tomas, Gary Tomaszewski, Robert Pettus, Randy Pettus, Tommy Hill, and Hunter Killen.
