Ruth June Wimberly Lefevers – Obituary

Ruth June Wimberly Lefevers, age 70, passed away March 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with breast cancer at NHC-Murfreesboro. She was a native of Cannon County.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Dean) Jennings of Murfreesboro; Siblings, Darce (Bernice) Wimberly, James Wimberly, Glen (Rhonda) Wimberly, all of Woodbury; Sister-in-law, Baunita Wimberly of Woodbury; and her beloved cat, Zoe.

Several nieces & nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde & Pearl Mathis Wimberly; husband of 43 years, Wayne Lefevers; Brothers, Paul Wimberly & Joe Wimberly; sister & brother-in-law, Mattie Lee & Roy Gannon & Mildred & Ray Fann; and special friend, Donald Gannon.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She retired from the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. She was a natural born caregiver and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of caring for patients under her supervision. After retirement, she also cared for several members of her immediate family.

She was a member of the West High Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family is from 4 to 8 PM Sat., March 14, 2015 and from 12 til time of service Sun., March 15, 2015.

In lieu of gifts & flowers, donations may be made to the After Breast Cancer (ABC) Program at the YMCA in Murfreesboro, Jesse C. Beesley Animal Foundation, or any organization of your choice.
