Ruth Ellen Walker Rawdon, age 95, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at her residence. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a homemaker, and a member of Summertown Church of Christ. She enjoyed watching sports, especially her grandkids, and doing arts and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hovey and Mary Ann Johnston Walker; five brothers, Paul Walker, Bill Walker, Warren Walker, Russell Walker, and Joe Walker; four sisters, Elizabeth Robinson, Theatis Reis, Grace Walker, and Bea Walker; and brother-in-law, Cecil Rawdon.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William “Bud” Rawdon of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son, Chris Rawdon (Dawn) of Spring Hill, TN; one daughter, Ann Rawdon Mathews (Tommy) of Summertown, TN; five grandchildren, Hannah Rawdon Redican (Michael) of Nashville, TN, Madison Rawdon of Starkville, MS, Thomas Scott Mathews of Lawrenceburg, TN, Samuel Austin Mathews (Emily) of Johnson City, TN, and Marla Mathews Castorena (Clem) of Summertown, TN; one sister, Mary Etta Rawdon of Lawrenceburg, TN; many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 29, 2023, with Ricky Glass officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Summertown Church of Christ.
