Ruth C. Rasmussen (Crabtree), of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Hospice Family Care, in Huntsville, Alabama.
Ruth was born in Alabama on February 9, 1935 as an only child. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, and also had a successful career in property management, spanning more than two decades. She was the daughter of a Church of God preacher and had a great appreciation for the Food Network. Ruth also loved to shop and had a passion for fishing at the beach and the river. She was an avid attendee of regular family reunions in Childersburg Alabama.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 71 years Lewis Rasmussen; her daughter Sandra (Buddy) Lemley; son John L. Rasmussen; granddaughter Heather (Jimmy) Wallace; great granddaughters Annalise (Corey) Johnson and Sydney Wallace; and great great grandson Noah Johnson as well as many additional family and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her Father, John Herman Crabtree; her Mother, Margaret Lounell Smith.
A graveside service for Ruth will be held at Huntsville Memory Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama at 12:30 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s honor may be made to the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund.
