Ruth Bowen Bachman, beloved mother, ‘granny’ and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024, at the age of 86. She was a resident of Madison, AL and born in Decatur, AL to parents Bertha and Fred Edward Bowen Sr.

Ms. Bachman was a 1955 graduate of Decatur High School and attended Athens State College. After graduating, her first career job was at Army Missile Command and Redstone Arsenal, where she met her future husband – Ronald Bachman. Ronald Bachman soon became a Post Command Sergeant Major. Ms. Bachman excelled as a military wife and became active in NCO Wives, Post Chapel, and American Red Cross. She was a devoted member of 16th Avenue Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. In May 1961, they welcomed their daughter, Pamela Sue Bachman (Pamela Bachman Nuwayhid).

Ms. Bachman is survived by her daughter, Pamela Nuwayhid (Sami Nuwayhid); grandsons, Adam Nuwayhid (Nicole Nuwayhid) and Austin Nuwayhid (Kaylee Nuwayhid); granddaughter, Lauren Nuwayhid Sanders (Austin Sanders); nephew, Eddie Bowen (Remy Bowen); and extended Bachman Family residing in Michigan.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2024, at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
