Ruth B. Lawson, 91, of Athens, Alabama, passed away on April 4th, 2024. She was born on June 2nd, 1932, in Limestone County, Alabama, to Mike and Ada (Christopher) Brooks.
Mrs. Lawson is survived by her daughter Nancy L. Shores of Athens, AL; son Grover C. Lawson III (Vicki) of Sardis, MS; grandchildren Nicholas Lawson Shores (Helen), Heather Jarmon (Phillip), Hannah Peters (Ben), Julie King (Jason), and Skyler Lawson; great-grandchildren Chyanne Jarmon, Cameron Jarmon, Olivia Peters, Lawson Peters, William Shores, Anne Evans King, Brooks Shores, Darby King, and Brinson Shores; brothers Harold Brooks (Linda) and Joe Brooks (Donna Kay); and sisters Kathleen Wales, Marjorie Pepper, and Betty Bullington.
Mrs. Lawson is preceded in death by her parents Mike and Ada Brooks; husband G.C. “Buddy” Lawson, Jr., son-in-law Marc Shores; three brothers; and one sister.
The funeral for Mrs. Lawson will be Sunday, April 7th, 2024, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, April 7th, from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Shores, Ben Peters, Jason King, Skyler Lawson, Phillip Jarmon, Brad Zirbel, and Mike Barron. Burial will be at Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Lawson was a member of The Church of Christ. She enjoyed flowers, doing needlepoint, and gardening. She loved the Lord and her family.
