Mr. Russell Otha Goins, age 73, of the Morgan City community, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at his residence under the care of Enhabit Hospice Care. Mr. Goins was the son of Raymond Otha Goins and Fraulene Willingham Goins: born on September 9, 1949 in Russellville, Alabama. He was married to Vicki Anne Kennedy Goins who passed away December 2021. Russell was a truck driver, employed previously by Alabama Carriers out of Hanceville, AL.
Russell was a hard working individual. He spent many hours working on lawn care and doing mechanic work, especially working on small engines. During his younger years and before his health took a down turn Russell enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was also an accomplished guitar player.
Russell is survived by a loving family including: daughters, Ashley Jolly and Krista Gentry (Zach); sons, Derrick Kennedy and Jamey Goins; brother, Douglas Goins (Ann); ten grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Preceding Russell in death are his wife, Vicki Kennedy Goins, and parents, Raymond and Fraulene Goins.
The family has elected to follow Russell’s wishes for cremation. A Celebration of Life will be announced when arrangement are finalized.
