Russell Edward “Russ” Martin, age 70 of Joppa Alabama, died – Thursday – June 9, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Martin was born on April 12, 1946 in Marshall County, Alabama to Clifford Eugene Martin & Ada Pauline Ponder Martin. He worked in management in the poultry industry. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Army – National Guard.
He was a member of Hebron Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan M. Brown Martin; one daughter: Twyla Eugena Bryant; grandchildren: Hunter Neal Bryant, Kati Beth Bryant; brothers: Alvin Martin (Debra), Ricky Martin (Michelle), Ronnie Martin; sisters: Joan Latham (Larry), Audie Wray (Greg). He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Eugene Martin & Ada Pauline Ponder Martin and a sister Patsy Johnson.
Funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. – Saturday – June 11, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother Brock Johnson and Brother Brad Howard officiating. The family elected cremation following the service. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Norman Roberts, Lynn Smith, Jimmy Hester, Elwin Heatherly, Nicky Earwood, Blaine Stith, Donald Ellis and Joel Moore.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday – June 11, 2016 prior to the service at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
