Russell Edward O’Neil

SGT. First Class Russell Edward O’Neil, 62, of Athens, AL passed away July 9, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital.

Mr. O’Neil was born September 9, 1960 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to John Edward O’Neil and Cecilia Josephine Kozlik O’Neil.

SGT. O’Neil served in the U.S. Army for 22 years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years Paris O’Neil of Athens, AL, one son Corey O’Neil (Krystle) of Athens, AL, two grandchildren Draven Hinshaw and Ensley O’Neil.

Visitation will be Thursday July 13, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00 A.M.

Funeral Service will follow at McConnell Memorial Chapel at 11:00 with Thom Porter officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
