  Russell Brian “Rusty” Richardson, 67, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

A Memorial Service honoring the life of Mr. Richardson will be held at 1 PM Thursday, August 10, 2023 in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 AM until Service Time Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Ripley Funeral Home.

Rusty was born in Memphis TN, on April 11, 1956, to Mary Elizabeth Besinger Richardson of Ripley and the late Randall E. Richardson. A 1975 graduate of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, Mr. Richardson was employed with Baddour, Mid-South Transport, and AutoZone throughout his career as a truck driver and diesel mechanic.

Rusty enjoyed sharing time with family and eating home cooked meals. An avid NASCAR fan, Mr. Richardson had a passion for cars, listening to Elvis music and will be remembered as always keeping a “shined” vehicle. A writer, Rusty published the book “Nevertheless” and often attended book signings.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memories include two daughters, Rebecca Hopkins Richardson of Hernando, Rylie Bailey (Aaron) of Ripley, one son Reed Richardson of Baldwin, two sisters, Rita Richardson of Southaven, Rhonda Richardson of Verona, two brothers, Randy Richardson of Crossville TN, Richard Richardson of Hernando, four grandchildren, Brian Littleton, Braden Hopkins, Raelyn Richardson and Callie-Faye Hopkins.

He is also preceded in death by one sister Robin Richardson and one grandson Ryker Richardson.
