Rufus Davis Collins Jr, 89, of Madison County, Alabama died April 6th, 2022 in Madison County AL. He was born June 29th 1932, to Rufus Davis Collins, Sr. and Kit Meldrymn Collins in Mullins, South Carolina.
He married Ethleen Elizabeth Ricketts on October 19, 1958 in Emporia, Virginia. He served in the Navy from July 1950 to May 1954 as an Aviation Metalsmith Second class; and received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, China Service Medal, Korean Service Medal (2-stars), United Nations Service Medal. He would go on to earn his Doctorate Degree in Engineering and go to work for NASA until his first retirement.
He is survived by son William Davis Collins, adopted son Jonathan Rufus Collins; adopted daughter Rebecca Leigh Collins; sister Jenny Seigler of Hampton, VA; brother Richard Collins of Owings, MD; and 7 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Ethleen Elizabeth Collins (Wife), Christopher Collins (son), Dorothy Kit Collins (Daughter)
