Rufus Anthony Foxx – Obituary

Rufus Anthony Foxx was born to Robert Andrew and Vesta Elizabeth Train Foxx on February 17, 1955. He was educated in the Lincoln County School System and graduated from Boonshill High School, where he was a great basketball player. He loved sports and was a great Tennessee Vols fan.

Mr. Foxx held numerous jobs before he found his passion in working in law enforcement. He served in law enforcement in Fayetteville, TN before coming to Huntsville where he served for a combined 31 years. Mr. Foxx started as a patrolman and was promoted to a Lt. before his retirement.

He traveled and taught at many places over the U.S. With all of his many degrees and certificates that he earned, his greatest degree was in Jesus Christ. He was a great Pastor and man of God. He loved people and teaching people about Jesus Christ.

In 1982, he met Theresa Jordan, the love of his life. They loved each other everyday of their 34 years together and it showed in the daily lives. Her “Teddy Bear” was a faithful husband. She was a faithful to him as well, a loving wife left to cherish his memory as Theresa Foxx. He was the father to three children: Ikenn Foxx, Angle Foxx and Brandon Foxx who will cherish his memory as well.

Mr. Foxx is also survived by his loving mother-in-law, Miss Lillie Higginson; sister, Wanda Foxx; brother, William Foxx; sister-in-law, Gwenn Foxx; two brothers-in-law, Mark and Carl Jordan; grandson, Ammod Muhmmhad; granddaughter, Jaya Brown; two very special nephews, Roderick Foxx and Markus Foxx; special friends, Jerry Holmon, Pastor Eric and Vickie O’Creary and Micheal Bone; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Foxx was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and brother, Ronnie Foxx.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
