Ruby Prater – Obituary

Rev. Ruby Prater went to be with the Lord, on May 10, 2017 at the home of her daughter.

Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Pineywoods Sipsey Road on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Bryan Tidwell, James Aaron and Jeral Dean Drummond will officiate.

She was a minister of the gospel. She was licensed with Assemblies of God, March 24, 1969. She served and pastored in the Pineywoods area until her retirement in 2004 at the age of 75.

She is rejoicing in heaven with the following family members. Her parents-Oscar and Gertrude Aaron; Sister-Jean Light; 4 Brothers-Lawrence, Buren (Zelma) Aaron and their daughter Donna, Billy Wayne Aaron, Dick Aaron and his daughter Tammy.

The family members to join her later are Daughter-Shelia (Doyle) Bailey; Adopted Son-Wendall Prater (Jean); Grandchildren-James Bailey, Karen (Ray) Brown Family, Terry (Dewayne) Brand Family, Letha (Shannon) Hall Family, Jason, Tony, Jeremy Prater Families; Sister-in-laws-Alice Faye Aaron and Faye Aaron; A host of nieces, nephews and church family.

In lieu of flowers please give donations to Carpenters in Missions founded by Joe Fowler ; 375 Mocking Bird Hill Road; Oakman, AL 35579, or Gentiva (Kindred) Hospice; 3350 Riverwood Parkway; Suite 1400; Atlanta, GA 30339.
