Ruby Mae Clemmons Riggs – Obituary

Ruby Mae Clemmons Riggs, 82, a native of St. Joseph, TN and a resident of Lauderdale County, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Glenwood Health Care.

She was a member of Grace Crossroad Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 6 – 9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home . The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Grace Crossroad Church with Brother Michial Westfall officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Cedar Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Riggs was preceded in death by her husbands, Loyd Clemmons and Noah Riggs; sons, Dewey, Larry and Clifford Clemmons, Sr.; daughter, Tammy Clemmons Holt; grandson, James L. Clemmons; father, James Earnest Sandy; brother, Floyd Sandy; sister, Dorothy Reeves.
She is survived by her mother, Pauline McDonald Sandy of Florence; daughters, Shelia Nichols (Larry) of Florence, Marilyn Elam (Charles) of Sheffield; brothers, Brady and Grady Sandy of Florence; sister, Dean Borden of Florence; grandchildren, Connie Terry (Ray), Amy Nichols (Jon), Denise Ballew (Joe), Clifford Clemmons, Jr., Paula Elam, Tonya McVay, Chuck Elam (Jennifer), Mark Clemmons (Melissa), Charlie and Amanda Holt; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chuck Elam, Mark Clemmons, Charlie Holt, Brandon Ballew, Ray Terry, Herman Terry, and Anthony Elam.
She loved her children and grandchildren and will be missed by them all.
Special thanks to Dr. Webb, the loving and caring nurses and CNA’s that provided excellent care to her while she was at home at Glenwood Nursing Home.
She loved her new friends there and wouldn’t miss playing bingo.
