Ruby M. Watts Makemson, 88, of Gardendale passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Ruby was a longtime member of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church and was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Harlin W. Makemson; parents, Will and Annie Powell Watts; brothers, Jim Watts, Loid Watts and Harold Watts; her sisters, Lois Morgan, Helen Thomas and Opal Suther. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Anne Makemson Lindley (Bill); and her son, Thomas W. Makemson (Linda); grandchildren, Miranda Boys, Angela Holley (Jamey), Kris “Krissy” Lindley, Erik Lindley and Jarrod Lindley (Cherie); great-grandchildren, Alex Boys, Haley Boys, Isabella Holley, Avery Holley, Christian Lindley, Kaylee Faulkner and Kenzie Lindley; her sister, Marie Kaylor; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Chapel services were Wednesday, March 9th and interment followed in Center Grove Cemetery in Cullman. Reverend Leon Zalenski and Reverend George Week officiated.
