Ruby Louise Baskins – Obituary

Ruby Louise Baskins, departed this world to be with her beloved husband Ade Baskins on March 22, 2016 at ECM Hospital.

Mom was born on May 11, 1931 to the late Homer and Jessie Clemmons.

She was retired from the Board of Education. Mom was a dedicated Christian Lady who attended Macedonia Church of Christ most of her 84 years. She loved the Lord and will be missed by all who knew her. Her thoughts were always of someone else, never herself. Family was her first concern. She was the backbone of the family. Mom was dedicated to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mom’s home always had an open door, never locked, coffee always on.

Mom’s favorite saying was “If you can’t say something good about a person, then don’t say anything. “

Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, from 6:00- 9:00 pm, Morrison Funeral Home at Central. Services will be Friday 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Brother Norman Hargett and Brother James Sein officiating with burial in Rhodesville Cemetery.

She is survived by one son: Darrell Baskins (Michelle) 2 daughters: Patsy Murphy (Jim), Judy Green (Wayne) all of Florence, 3 granddaughters and 1 special granddaughter, Kim Brewer, 1 grandson Austin Baskins, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Ade Baskins: granddaughter Kristie Murphy, 1 brother: Bill, 3 sisters: Vernie, Reba and Georgia.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Hamm, Austin Baskins, Nick Brewer, Tanner Green, Jeff Faires and Mickey Clemmons. Honorary pall bearers: Tommy Baskins and Butch Chambers.
