Ruby “Lane” Baker, 79, of Sheffield, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Thursday, January 4, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Larry Kilpatrick officiating. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Lane was a member of Florence Boulevard Church of Christ and the author of Born with a Veil, Living with the Unliving. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed. Lane was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Baker; mother, Gladys Comer; father, Clay Howard; sisters, Dot Willis (Curtis) and Brenda Jett; and nephew, Clay Willis.
She is survived by her children, Deedra Joan Terrell (Fred), Misty Berry (Andy), and James Daily (Jeri Lynn); sister, Sheila Johnson; grandson, Tyler Roberts (Devi); niece, Denise Tittle (Scott); nephew, Chris Willis (Gina); host of other nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Rockett and Misty Koko.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
