Ms. Ruby Jo Williams, age 90, of the Oleander community of Union Grove, Alabama passed
away Monday, October 23, 2023 at her residence. Ms. Williams was born December 21, 1932 in
Marshall County, Alabama to John H. Sr. and Ruby Barnard Williams. She was of the
Methodist faith and an active member of Oleander Global Methodist Church.
Ruby Jo loved going to church, working puzzles, going for long walks, yard work, and keeping
in touch with her family and friends.
Family left behind to cherish memories of Ruby Jo include: brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and
Judy Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and neighbors.
Preceding Ruby Jo in death include: parents, John H. Sr. and Ruby B. Williams; brothers, John
H. Williams, Jr., Charles Williams, and Patrick C. Williams; and sister, Modane Daugette.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Arab Heritage Memorial
Chapel in Arab, Alabama. Friends and family will convene for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until
funeral services start at 11:00. Interment will be in the Oleander Church Cemetery. Pallbearers
assisting will be; Jeff Williams, Shaun Williams, Jonathan Williams, Robert Massingill, Bruce
McWhorter, and Johnny Williams.
In honor of Ruby Jo’s memory and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to
Oleander Cemetery Fund.
