Ruby Earline Zills – Obituary

Ruby Earline Zills, 83, of Muscle Shoals, went to her heavenly home Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, one day before her 84th birthday, surrounded by family and friends after an extended illness. She was a sweet, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, from 6-9 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at South Highland Free Will Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, where she was a member. Mrs. Zills will lie in state for one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Officiating will be grandsons, Brother Jimmy Cole, Brother Scott Bee and Brother Shiloh Hackett, Pastor of South Highland Free Will Baptist. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Wallie Zills.

She was also preceded in death by her son, David O’Neal Zills; son-in-law, Buddy Balentine; granddaughter, Bonnie Marie Zills; parents, Sam and Eva Mae Pendergrass Scott;

brothers, Jimmy, Billy and W.C. Scott; sisters, Oma Skains, Elizabeth Basden and Frances Murray.

Survivors include a son, Danny Zills (Debbie), of Tuscumbia; daughters, Sandra Balentine, Brenda Cole (Edward), Barbara Bee (Tommy), all of Muscle Shoals, and Beverly Carter (Bob), of Elkhart, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; with two more great-grandsons expected soon;

brothers, Robert, Roger, Donald and Ronald Scott;

sisters, Carolyn Segars, Gloria Aycock and Linda Terry.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Robbie Balentine, Anthony Cole, Dewayne Zills, Michael Zills, Chad Zills, Eric Zills, Andrew Zills and Brandon Carter.

Psalms 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble.”

The family would like to express appreciation to Hospice of the Shoals, Cynthia Rollins, Heather Patterson and Beth Osborn for the care given to our mother.
