Mr. Cottrell was born November 5, 1943 in Lexington, AL, to Oscar and Ona Freeman Cottrell. He worked for several years as an auto collision technician. He always enjoyed a good NHRA drag race and was a supporter of The University of Alabama football. However, this is no comparison to the love he had for his children and grand-children.
Survivors include his wife Sarah Cottrell; son Keith (Lisa) Cottrell; daughter Kim Lamb; sister Phyllis Adams; sister in law Ann Cottrell; grandchildren Mitch (Mary) Lamb, Brooke DeMoss (Jake), Hannah (William) Hayes, Alex Cottrell, Kade Cottrell; great-grandchildren Brody, Kona, Liam, and Callan.
Mr. Cottrell was preceded in death by his parents; brother Harold Cottrell; and brother in law Jud Adams.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 1pm at Bethel Cemetery in Anderson, AL.
