Royce Ray Massey – Obituary

Royce Ray Massey, 78, Tuscumbia, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Monday at Highland Park Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., with Brother Brett Pitman and Brother Ted Vafeas officiating. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Mr. Massey was a native of Belgreen and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for the Alabama Department of Transportation as the assistant division maintenance engineer in the second division. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
His parents, Charlie and Lottie Massey, and his sister, Nellie Massey Jarnigan, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marceil Powell Massey; brother, J.C. Massey and wife Grace, of Cleveland, Ohio; niece, Nancy Bingham and husband Ricky, of Spruce Pine; nephews, David Massey and wife Paula, of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Stanley Massey and wife Paula, of Sylvania, Ohio; and great-nieces, Tara Armatas and husband Andrew, of West Palm Beach, Fla., De Annie Lindsey and husband Willie, of Spruce Pine, and Peyton Bingham, of Spruce Pine.
Pallbearers are Rick Wyatt, Harold Kimbrough, Adam Powell, John Gerome, Jon Gregory and Eric Enck. Honorary pallbearers are the members of his Sunday school class.
