Mr. Roy Shirley, age 85, of Lester Drive, Boaz, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at his residence.
Service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at eleven o’clock a.m. at the Chapel of McRae Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Shirley was born in Alabama on January 29, 1936, to Wheeler and Bertha Stanley Shirley. He was a retired truck driver and worked several years a B & M Campers.
Mr. Shirley is survived by his Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Roy Mark & Vikki Shirley of Dothan and Michael Jay & Angela Shirley of Boaz, Grandchildren: Ashley Kubitz (Conner), Austin Jay Shirley, Mary Jane Burnham, John Burnham, Jeff & Leigh Kilgore and Chris Kilgore, Great Grandchildren: Oliver Word and Katie Kilgore, Sisters: Lola Hatley of Joppa and Oma D. Thompson of Union Grove, Special Friend: Paula Hand. He was preceded in death by his parents: Wheeler & Bertha Shirley, Wife: Catherine Freeman and Sisters: Mable Lee Hornsby.
