Funeral service for Roy McBride Johnston, 85, will be Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bryan Blass officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnston died on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his residence. He was born October 1, 1937, in Jefferson County to D B Johnston and Naomi Jones Johnston.
He was self-employed as a subcontractor prior to his retirement. Mr. Johnston was an active member of the Central Baptist Church of Decatur and passed away after a two- year battle with cancer.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, John Boyd Johnston.
Survivors include:
Wife – Linda O’Bar Johnston
Son – Michael Alan Johnston (Angela)
Daughter – Susan Leigh Johnston
Four Grandchildren-
Connor Johnston, Landon Fanning (Becca),
Sydney Johnston and Lydia Fanning.
Three Step-Grandchildren-
Clarissa O’Connor, Carmen O’Connor
and Maximillian Rivers.
Pallbearers will be Landon Fanning, Chase Hancock, Maximillian Rivers and Connor Johnston.
