Roy L Raines Jr. Profile Photo A Celebration of Life Service for Roy L. Raines Jr, 87, of Corinth, MS will be Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11 AM at Magnolia Funeral Home – East officiated by Bro. Ray Bennett. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 5-8 PM and Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10 AM till service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Pallbearers include Blake Arnold, Cade Raines, Jake Raines, Stacy Carter, Sean Meeks, and Chad Harville. Roy was born in Memphis, TN on February 8, 1936 to the late Roy L. Raines Sr. and Kathleen Tollison Raines and passed away at Magnolia Regional Health Center on January 26, 2024. Roy graduated from Corinth High School in 1955 and was the first radio announcer for WKCU and later announced for WCMA. He was also the owner of Roy’s Jewelry Store and later the owner of a dump truck hauling business. As a 32nd degree Mason, he exemplified the values of brotherhood and service. Additionally, he was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Roy found immense joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, whether it was gathering around the dining table for a delicious meal or sharing laughter during family outings, these moments held a special place in Roy’s heart. Survivors include his sons, Lesley Raines and Todd Raines; his grandchildren, Ashley Raines, Tyler Raines, Brooklin Nunley (Andy), Katelin Raines, Blake Arnold, Madison Raines, and Jake Raines; his great grandchildren, Cade Raines, Caroline Raines, Bentley Wiginton, Elee Harville, and Tristan Maharrey; other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by his daughter, Allison Raines; and by his sister, Sidney Lassiter.
