Roy Kirk, 99, of Pocahontas
Mr. Kirk passed Saturday afternoon, May 4, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Hospital in Corinth, MS.

He was born in Hardeman County and was a life-long resident of Pocahontas. His parents were the late Jesse Edward and Ora Galloway Kirk. He served his country during World War II and, at the time of his death, was the oldest World War II veteran in Hardeman County. He worked as a farmer and also at Armira Corporation (the “Tannery”) in Bolivar for 17 years.

Survivors include his sister, Bernice Bass of Middleton; three brothers, C. W. (Tommie Sue) Kirk of Middleton, Leon (Lottie) Kirk of Olive Branch, MS and James (Linda) Kirk of Middleton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Ledford; and two brothers, Frank and Wilbert Kirk.

Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
