Roy J. Zimmerman, 71, of Augusta County, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the University of Virginia Hospital. He was born November 17, 1943, in Waynesboro, son of the late Roy Elwood Zimmerman and Katherine Lee Call Zimmerman.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin R. Zimmerman and Douglas J. Zimmerman.
He is survived by his children, Roy W. Zimmerman and wife, Virginia B. of Waynesboro, William Andrew Zimmerman of Waynesboro and Mary Melissa Zimmerman of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandchildren, Paula N. Stickley, Taylor Zimmerman and Angelique Zimmerman; three great-grandchildren Angelina, Roselin and Avah; two step-children, Carl and Boyd J. DeVoe; his former wife, Geraldine DeVoe; his significant other, Beverly Henry; four sisters, Janie Caccipagalia of Staunton, Kathy Milliser of Waynesboro, Shirley Berlanga of Rhode Island and Sally Hall of Florida and two brothers, George Zimmerman of Maryland and David Zimmerman of Virginia.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church. 767 Calf Mountain Rd., Waynesboro, conducted by The Rev. John Craft and David Zimmerman.
